[rant] 4srs. It's not really the sexism that gets to me, mostly because Twilight IS just a Mary-Sue Fabio romance novel for kids, and I'm known to read such rubbish, unrealistic erotica and romance. But even then, I know they're not real literature, nor are they even that good. They're guilty pleasures. Angela Knight is probably one of the better erotica/romance writers because the romance does feel realistic, as do her characters and the situations she puts them in.
Meyer.. is just a untalented hack that some publisher figured could bring in lots of green because the era of J.K. Rowling was slowly coming to an end.
Here's the lesson: Anyone can write, but it takes true talent/practice to write something worthwhile.
Anyone can write an obnoxious Mary-Sue.
In conclusion: Twilight is a guilty pleasure book, nothing more, and I'm tired of it being made out to be something ultimately bigger than it actually is. [/rant]

"Dear Criminals: Barricade is the new Death Penalty and there is no trial. He just runs you over."
NOTHING about Twilight is realistic. AT ALL. Since when do guys start falling over a random girl her first day at school? Since when do vampires sparkle? Or go out in sunlight? Or go vegan? Oh, I know. NEVER. The Cullens aren't even vampires; they're a whole new race that she just happened to slap the name vampire on. And I quote SMeyer: "When I write, it's not like I actually think about what I'm doing."
I could never even consider it a guilty pleasure book. There's no way in hell I'd put myself through the torture of reading it again. I'm way past the point of patting SMeyer's empty little head, grinning, and letting her play (and by play, I mean fucking up the literary world). Oh no. I'm to the point of ripping out her spleen with a pair of rusty pliers and shoving it back up her ass with a sharkskin-lined baseball bat. Either that or taking away that thesaurus she rapes on an hourly basis; I'm interested to see what she does. Oh, the chagrin!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

As a woman I'm offended by her existence. The Desperate Housewife of Utah is not a credit to her sex.
SMeyer makes sheep look like a flock of Einstein clones. Hell, I bet she's a halfwit on a GOOD day.
J.K. Rowling has more intelligence in her right nipple than SMeyer has in that hollow dome she refers to as a skull.
